Frustrated

FRUSTRATED!!!! I came IN to visit my parents and teach my mom quilting....she didn't get dressed until noon and is now sitting watching soaps!!!! I have to keep telling myself this is part of depression, but I am still frustrated by the wasted time.  At least I've got The Girl working on a baby quilt for the youth director at our church who had a baby girl a week ago today.

Please pray for patience and calmness for me....any advice is welcome.

  2. I was going to ask Cheryl's question. As a long time sufferer of depression - if I'm not on meds, I feel for her. She won't have the mental energy to seek help.

  3. Sorry that your mom is dealing with depression. Sometimes it can be so frustrating when you want to make it better for someone and it just doesn't happen. Just keep letting her know you love her, it will help both of you.

  4. So frustrating when you want to help--by DOING something with Mom--and she refuses to join in. Remember, you can't change anyone else--you can only change yourself. You could accept that Mom is that way and then go about having a great vacation for yourself and the Girl without worrying about Mom. Since you came all the way to IN for a vacation, do what you want to do, whether or not Mom joins in.

  5. OK, so I am catching up by reading backwards, but I see that your frustration with your mom stems from the same issue I have with my sibling. I try to understand depression, but I don't, and it frustrates me beyond belief. Hang in there!
